 Abstract:  Edmund H. Chapman (1906-1975) was a professor at Western Reserve University and chairman of its Department of Art and Architecture. He authored the book, "Cleveland, Village to Metropolis," based on his dissertation, "Early Cleveland--the evolution of a city," and wrote numerous articles on local architecture. The collection consists of Chapman's dissertation, the manuscript to his book, journal articles, lecture notes, and student papers.

 Abstract:  Joseph Ceruti (1912-1993) was a prominent architect and member of the Italian-American community in Cleveland. He graduated from East Technical High School in 1929, and earned a degree in architecture at Western Reserve University in 1934. After working for Warner & Swasey during World War II, he went into private practice in 1947. Some of his clients included Case Institute of Technology (later Case Western Reserve University), Cleveland Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA), Fenn College (later Cleveland State University), Cleveland Public Library, the Cleveland Board of Education (Adlai Stevenson School), Warner & Swasey, and Motch & Merryweather. He was active in the American Institute of Architects, and was a member of many organizations including the board of directors of Alta Social Settlement House and the Fine Arts Advisory Committee of the City of Cleveland. The collection consists of architectural drawings and specifications, clippings, contracts, correspondence, general office files, photographs, and slides.

 Abstract:  Alexander Cochran Robinson (1891-1985) was a Cleveland, Ohio, architect who helped design the Cleveland Institute of Art. He was a fellow of the American Institute of Architects and a member of the National Capital Planning Commission. The collection consists of correspondence, articles, papers, note cards, and photocopies of newspaper clippings and photographs.

 Abstract:  Moses P. Halperin was a Cleveland, Ohio, architect who specialized in temple and synagogue design. In 1948, he formed a partnership with Sigmund Braverman, known as Braverman and Halperin. In addition to numerous buildings in the Cleveland area, the firm designed structures in various communities in the United States and Canada. In 1924, Halperin married Sara Allen Halperin. The collection consists of photocopies of articles, floor plans, and drawings of buildings.
